Write for a Child

He burst into fine laughter at the loop of the plane. The plane was red, it had yellow wings; he loved the soft clouds it made. Nothing like a hot dog with ketchup, and ice cream, on a summer day at the air show! There was nothing like it in the world!

  1. ONce upon a time there was a mommy a daddy and a little boy. The little boy liked trucks. Big shiny trucks. "Look, Daddy, look!" said the little boy. "A place with a lot of trucks!" Daddy liked the trucks too. He went in. The daddy spoke with the man. the man gave daddy the truck. The daddy drove the little boy home in the big shiny truck. Daddy called it a pick up truck. Daddy let the little boy ride in the back. the little boy was happy.
When they got home, mommy told the little boy he was going to have a baby brother. "O boy!" cried the little boy. "a new friend!" The mommy told the daddy they needed a bigger house. Mommy and daddy went one day and talked with a woman. a few days later mommy told the little boy to put all his toys in a box. They were going to their new house!
The little boy was happy in his new house. He had a new bed. He had a new room. It was a big room. mommy and daddy bought him a television for his room. He was happy.
One day daddy and mommy looked sad. Daddy said he needed to get something. But He could not get it. He called it credit. The little boy asked the daddy if he could talk to the man who gave them the truck. He asked his mommy if they could talk to the woman who gave them the house. they said no. They already gave them credit. they had no more to give, and they wanted what they gave back.
Indian givers, thought the little boy.
One day a man came and took the big shiny truck. Another day mommy put all his toys in a box and they drove in mommy's little car to grandma's. later his daddy came home. he was sad. Mommy was sad. Grandma was asleep after drinking too much of the brown soda she kept under the sink.
But the little boy sat in the living room and played with his toys. His mommy was there . His daddy was there. He was happy.
